2025 Team-building Trip to Southern Fujian: Gathering Strength at the Starting Point of the Maritime Silk Road, Uniting Hearts and Minds to Create the Future
2025-09-15

From September 12th to 14th, 2025, when the autumn just tinted the earth with a light golden hue, we set off on a three-day team-building trip with a Minnan flavor, filled with excitement and anticipation. During the journey, we not only enjoyed the magnificent beauty of our motherland's mountains and rivers and appreciated the unique charm of intangible cultural heritage, but also deepened our understanding of each other through mutual companionship and interaction, making the bond of friendship even stronger.

Fujian-taiwan Bond Museum - Unveiling a Thousand Years of History

On the first day of the team-building activity, we visited the China Fujian-Taiwan Relations Museum. This national museum, with its unique perspective, presents to us the profound historical and cultural ties between Fujian and Taiwan. In the museum, we saw a rich collection of cultural relics and historical materials, and gained a comprehensive understanding of the inseparable relationship between Fujian and Taiwan from multiple aspects such as geography, ethnicity, politics, economy and culture. What is particularly impressive is the museum's display of the folk culture of Fujian and Taiwan through high-tech means, which makes us feel as if we have traveled through time and space, and personally experience the common living customs and cultural inheritance of the people of the two places.

In the afternoon, we arrived at Quanzhou West Street. This ancient street of the Tang and Song Dynasties with a history of over a thousand years is well-preserved and is known as the "Paradise of Minnan Snacks", with more than 50 time-honored brands densely distributed. Kaiyuan Temple, the largest Buddhist temple in Fujian Province, has witnessed the thousand-year history of Quanzhou. Standing on the viewing platform, we look down at the entire thousand-year-old temple. With its red walls and grey tiles, it exudes an ancient charm that lingers on. We can't help but marvel at the wisdom and craftsmanship of the ancient artisans.

The camera shows a historical explanation of the east and west pagodas of Kaiyuan Temple. Out of curiosity, we followed the tour guide through the temples together, listening to Guide Xie tell the story of Quanzhou, which is said to be "half the city is full of life and half is a fairy".

zanhua enclosure in full bloom

"Wear flowers in this life and be beautiful in the next!" " When the fisherman's grandma wrapped four strands of hair around her bun and arranged the jasmine and magnolia petals layer upon layer to form a "garden on her head", Manager Yang, who is usually decisive and efficient, suddenly became as shy as a young girl: "Aren't these flowers too bright?" In an instant, she struck a "star-style" pose in front of the camera, which made everyone burst into laughter. The sense of ceremony of the hairpin flower ring makes everyone shed their workplace labels and return to their most genuine selves - some squat in front of the oyster shell house to study the weaving of fishing nets, some chase after their grandmothers to learn a few lines of Minnan dialect, and some quietly buy ten garlands, saying they want to "take them back to make their sisters beautiful too".

Luoga Monastery - The Healing Power of the Sea and Sky Buddhist Kingdom

The waves of the Gold Coast are crashing against the rocks, and the Loga Temple on the sea is like a huge ship moored on the blue waves. We walked barefoot across the fine sandy beach, watching the egrets startled when the tide rose above our ankles. Sitting on the stone steps in front of the Guanyin Hall, I listened to the sea breeze carrying the sound of chanting past my ears. The young lady from the R&D department suddenly said, "Before, I always thought KPIs were like a mountain. Now looking back, no matter how great the pressure is, it can never be greater than this sea, can it?" Yes, when the power of nature and faith penetrates the heart, those anxieties in the workplace suddenly turn into grains of salt in the sea breeze, vanishing with a gentle blow.

Dai Mei Ancient Village - The Time Code in the Palace Grid

Entering the ancient village of Dai Mei, we were deeply attracted by the neatly arranged red brick houses before our eyes. This ancient village, with a history of over 500 years, features more than 270 ancient buildings arranged in an axial symmetry in a "nine-grid" pattern, with a neat layout that is truly breathtaking.

6.jpg

From generation to generation, villagers have adhered to the concept that "house construction does not exceed the ancestral system", and all houses are built with a uniform orientation, location, style, facilities and drainage. This persistence and sense of order remind us of the cultural construction of enterprises - only by adhering to core values can long-term development be achieved.

Dongshan Island - Oysters in the fishing net are free

The last stop of our trip was Dongshan Island. The sea water here is deep and clear under the sunlight, and the gentle breeze caresses the face, making people forget all their troubles. We also climbed Sufeng Mountain. Standing on the summit, the sea and sky merged into one as far as the eye could see, with a wide view. The excitement was indescribable. The winding road around the island connects magnificent mountains and rocks, charming fishing villages and the boundless sea. The most unforgettable part was experiencing the life of fishermen at the fishbone sandbar. We cast our own fishing nets and opened oysters by hand, achieving "oyster freedom". Xiao Zhang from the sales department tried opening oysters for the first time. Although his technique was clumsy, under the guidance of local fishermen, he quickly mastered the skills. The shells he pried open were piled up like a small mountain, and he ate them with great relish.

The bay of Nanmen Bay is vast, the beach is gentle, and it is surrounded by ancient fishing villages. We strolled along the bay, walking barefoot on the beach and enjoying the gentle caress of the sea water. Famous for being the filming location of the movie "Left Ear", the houses here are piled up like building blocks, with a riot of colors in red, yellow, blue and white, making them an excellent backdrop for us to take photos. Brewing a pot of tea with friends and listening to the sea tell its own story, there is a unique flavor in the heart.

It's both an end and a beginning: Pack the sunshine of southern Fujian into your backpack

On the bus on the way back, someone was fast asleep by the window, with the corners of their mouth still stained with the soup from the noodle paste. Someone was flipping through the photo album and muttering, "This photo of someone wearing a flower in their hair can definitely be used as a profile picture." Some people suddenly said, "For the next team-building activity, let's go to Xinjiang, Xizang and Inner Mongolia in our motherland!" Look, this is our team: always curious about the world and always creating new stories. This trip to southern Fujian did not have any deliberate team games or stiff slogans. Instead, in the morning bells of Kaiyuan Temple, in the fragrance of hairpin flower enclosures, and in the clanging of oyster shells, "colleagues" turned into "friends", and "work" was elevated to "shared passion". Just as the chairman often says: The most precious asset of the company has never been the figures on the financial statements, but every energetic and dream-filled colleague.

During this trip, we have sown a seed in the mountains and seas of southern Fujian - it is called unity, resonance and centripetal force. When the journey comes to an end and life returns to normal, this memory will turn into the light that keeps us moving forward: when facing challenges, we recall the waves of Dongshan Island; when tired, we savor the sweetness of the Four-Fruit soup; when confused, we remember the words "Wear flowers in this life and be beautiful in the next."

Dear friends, may we always keep today's enthusiasm: dare to think and strive in the meeting room, and dare to go wild and play on the journey.

One can negotiate a million-dollar project in a suit and also walk barefoot in the sand to pry open oysters.

Treat every encounter as a gift and every journey as a poem.
